In the context of ensuring a successful Sudanese transitional justice, gender must be taken into consideration while ensuring the presence of women in the steps of design, planning and participation in visions, ideas and consultations on how to be held accountable for serious abuses and violations, effective remedies and reparations for victims, the right to the truth and a guarantee of non-recurrence.
From this standpoint and within the Justice and Gender Project, Barah organized a two-day workshop on 15-16 February 2023 on transitional justice. The workshop targeted ten young women.
Has been discussed transitional justice in terms of definition, basic mechanisms, the difference between transitional justice and social justice, and the need to generalize the concept of a gender perspective in the transitional justice implementation commission, mechanisms, and committees.
