In recent years, Sudan has witnessed many mass atrocities.including the April15 War, hate speech played a major role in fueling conflicts and encouraging crimes and atrocitiescommitted aganist Sudanese people.
Social media and digital platforms are also now being used to spread hatred and arm and militarize public discourse in order to achieve political dains, which requires all of us, regardless of our sects and onentations, to combat hate speech and incite it. On 5/19/2024 Barah centre held a forum that included a number of actors and activists who discussed the use of hate speech as a tool of war and how to combat it.
The session was droadcast on the center's official Facebook page. We hope that this session will contribute to taking a step towards developing a strategic line to reduce hate speech and stop the war that israging in Sudan now.
