Barah Center, in collaboration with the SIHA Network, held an event at Altadamon High School for Girls in Gadarif to raise awareness about the dangers of child marriage. The event began with a discussion on the psychological and social effects of child marriage, focusing on the challenges girls face, such as losing their childhood, social isolation, lack of education, and psychological impacts like anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

The event also featured a theatrical play depicting the struggles of girls forced into early marriages, as well as a health talk on the serious health consequences of this practice.

With a lively atmosphere and strong participation from female students, the issue was discussed openly. The audience shared personal stories, which encouraged many to participate and express their opinions.

The event concluded with a legal awareness session led by lawyer Ms. Mai Osman Abdallah, who explained the laws regarding violence against girls resulting from early marriage. The session also emphasized the importance of empowering girls, protecting them from societal pressures, and educating them about their right to make independent decisions.
